01 Assunta Napolitano Camilo
Assunta Napolitano Camilo Director of this book and of the Better Packaging Better World collection

Mechanical engineer from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP). Specialist in industrial administration from Fundação Carlos Alberto Vanzolini (FCAV/USP) and in marketing from ESPM and Business School. She has worked for more than 43 years in the packaging market, with experience in development, strategic planning, and management in companies such as Cyklop, Dixie Toga (now AMCOR), Tetra Pak, and Ripasa (now MD Papéis). Consultant, international columnist and speaker on packaging, trends, innovation, and sustainability. Director of Instituto de Embalagens and FuturePack.

02 Simone Ruiz
Simone Ruiz Technical coordinator

Bachelor in industrial chemistry from Faculdades Oswaldo Cruz, with postgraduate degrees in sustainable projects, climate change, and corporate carbon management from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), and an MBA in strategic planning and management from Uninter. She has worked for more than 30 years in the packaging market, with experience in packaging research and development, quality, innovation and sustainability project management. At Instituto de Embalagens, she coordinates packaging courses and workshops and is coordinator and coauthor of five books in the Embalagem Melhor Mundo Melhor collection.

03 Margaret Hayasaki
Margaret Hayasaki Editor-in-chief

Journalist with a degree from São Paulo State University (Unesp - Bauru) and postgraduate studies in Corporate Communication from Fundação Cásper Líbero. She has worked for more than 30 years in packaging-focused journalism. Previously part of the Embanews editorial team, she is now editor-in-chief of Pack magazine and communication advisor for Instituto de Embalagens.

04 Edenilson Santos
Edenilson Santos Art director

He has worked for 12 years at Instituto de Embalagens, where he is currently responsible for communication and marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Digital Design from Centro Universitário FIEO (UNIFIEO), a postgraduate degree in Packaging Project Management from SENAI, and a postgraduate degree in Marketing: Management, Strategy, and Value Creation from FIA Business School. He has taken part in major international trade fairs such as Interpack, K Show, Drinktec, SIAL, All4Pack, Envase, and Andinapack.

Fernando Wagner Sandri Co-author

Chemical engineer from the State University of Maringá, with MBAs in Strategic Management and Marketing, and training in Innovation Marketing Management. He has more than 35 years of experience in the packaging, paper, and pulp sectors, working as an executive focused on technological innovation, business development, and competitive strategies. Instructor for environmental certification courses at Instituto de Embalagens, co-author of the book on Paper and Paperboard Packaging, board member of ABTCP and Director of FWSandri Consultoria.

02 Lucio Vicente
Lucio Vicente Co-author

He holds a degree in Social Communication from Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, a postgraduate qualification in Marketing from FAAP, training in socionomy from the Brazilian Association of Psychodrama and Sociodrama, and an MBA in Agribusiness Economics and Management from FGV. He is currently General Director of Instituto Akatu, a non-profit organization that is a pioneer in initiatives to raise awareness, mobilize, and engage society in conscious consumption.

03 Nuno Aguiar
Nuno Aguiar Co-author

He holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) in Lisbon. With more than 20 years of experience in waste management, plastics recycling, and the packaging industry, he served as Operations Director at PLASTVAL for 12 years. Since 2018, he has been Technical Director of the Portuguese Plastics Industry Association (APIP), where he coordinates technical areas and leads projects including the Roadmap for the Decarbonization of the Plastics Industry and the Mobilizing Agenda Sustainable Plastics. He also coordinates the Expert Committee of the Plastics Summit - Global Event and is an accredited auditor under RecyClass certification schemes.

04 Osvaldo V. Cristo
Osvaldo V. Cristo Co-author

Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the graphic industry. Worked at Compugraph, Scitex, Agfa, Purup, Eskofot, Esko Graphics, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen in Latin America, and Hewlett-Packard for Latin America, where he served as product manager, business developer, and in economic engineering.
